Followed by Dexter: The Resurrection (2025).I am a huge Dexter fan through and through. Dexter (seasons 1–8) is the only series I find myself watching over and over again. Like Harry (according to Dexter), change doesn’t come easily to me.

When Dexter: New Blood came out, at first the change of scenery, the coldness, the absence of some beloved cast members, and the lack of humor and Latin music were a huge disappointment to me. However, after watching it as a standalone series (without comparisons to the original), I became intrigued by it. Now, with this new show, of course, we’re not used to the new faces in the cast. However, I think it’s unfair to judge the cast since we’re not in the shoes of the casting directors and producers.
(Bonus: I really like Christian Slater
I believe they had to consider many more aspects besides just similar looks. Yes, we all wish that Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, James Remar, and the rest of the original cast could magically play the younger versions of their own characters, but only time goes in one direction. He’s great as always!) So far, I’m liking it after watching the first episode twice.

I think everyone filled their big Dexter shoes pretty well. I actually can’t deny that I’m even more excited to watch Dexter: Resurrection now that I’ve had a glimpse of the Dexter revival in ER. In short, I think this show is cool and will probably grow on me even more as time goes on. If you’re a Dexter fan, go in with no particular expectations or judgment.
